Anne W. von Briesen Lurz
June 13, 1936 - June 3, 2010



Anne passed into the loving hands of God on June 3, 2010 following an acute aortal dissection on April 30, 2010. Anne was born on June 13, 1936. She grew up in Baltimore, MD and was a 1955 graduate of Forest Park High School. Anne leaves behind her husband of over 54 years, Joseph A. Lurz, Jr. of Cypress, TX: son, David Lurz of Boerne, TX and wife Priscilla, daughters, Melissa Munshour of Wayne, PA and husband John and Margery Hoffman of Suwanee, GA and husband Douglas, grandchildren, Jeffery and Megan Munshour of Wayne PA and Elizabeth Lurz of San Antonio, TX and a sister Virginia Leatherman and family of Glen Rock, PA. Anne was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was fun loving and a much loved lady with many friends. Anne touched the lives of many people who will remember her beautifuly striking blue eyes, her kind and generous helping heart. Although Anne had COPD, she walked four miles daily with her many good friends. She especially enjoyed playing bridge, bunco and cruising with her many friends and family. She was a dedicated and creative rug hooker for over 30 years. She was a member of Christ The Redeemer Catholic Community where she faithfully served as a greeter at the 7 A.M. Sunday masses. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 7 o'clock in the evening until 9 o'clock at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Rd., Houston,TX, 77065. A Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister, Houston, TX, 77065. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's honor at Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church in Houston.
