I worked with Al on the PIP (Process Industry Practices) Pressure Vessel Team for more than a dozen years. He was an invaluable source of technical expertise, experience and wisdom. Al was a charter member of the Vessel Team and was able to provide background on the development of the vessel Practices. His dry, understated, wit enlivened the meetings, as did the stories he told. Many of those stories dealt with work experiences, but recently included personal travel. He took great joy from the recent trips he took with his wife. The Vessel Team has lost an irreplaceable member and I have lost a respected colleague. My condolences to Al's wife and family. May Al rest in peace.

Hi Richard, thank you for sharing his story here and showing your respect to him. During the six years we lived together I enjoyed any minute with him, he was a great co-worker and a great husband!

I am so sorry for your family's loss. My experiences with Al were related to participation in PIP. Al was a pleasure to work with, a source of knowledge and experience and had a wit that made the technical work seem less of a dry task.

My sincere condolences to Al's wife and family. Al was one of the best people I ever worked with. He was generous with his time, his incredible knowledge, and spirit. He always had time for a friend and always was willing to help no matter how busy he was. We will all miss him.
