Ann Marie was born in Biloxi, MS to Bobby Jo Wright and Melba Rose Watson on January 7th, 1962. She went to high school at Charles H. Milby High School in Houston, TX where she was part of the Girl’s Booster Club with afterschool activities and cheering on the football team.  She graduated in 1980 and went on to University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, LA.  Ann Marie worked in Credit Collections and International Accounts Receivable then as Radiation Safety Coordinator for Baker Hughes / Baker Atlas for 13 years.

She enjoyed volunteering and assisting at her children’s schools - Horne Elementary and Truit Middle School.  She coached Austin’s soccer team, was an avid cheer person at all his sports activities – roller hockey especially and she was there for Dani in all her dance activities.  Ann Marie was the neighborhood mom.  Austin’s friends seemed to live at our house because of the environment she created.

She loved animals and would save as many as she could when found in trouble, she enjoyed arts and crafts, dancing, reading, exercising and spending time with family and friends.  Ann Marie loved the Milby get togethers with her Milby family, she loved Facebook and enjoyed reaching out to family, friends, and people around the world, some of those the New Zealander’s fighting the long hard battle she had the past few years.

She was a good listener, amazing and kind, loving and so much fun to be around.  Ann Marie was always supportive of others and had a smile for everyone.  She was full of joy and made others around her smile.  No matter what the news in her fight she was determined, never gave up, always had a smile and would make you laugh.  Ann Marie was an angel.

Ann Marie is preceded in death by father in-law Raymond Pope, nephews Matthew Malo and  Jordan Wright, uncles Herman Wright and Billy Roy Watson, grandparents and great grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Rodney, her children Austin and Mary Danielle, father BJ (Harriete) Wright, mother Melba (Tony) Bliss, sister Rose (Mark) Massaro, sister Valerie Wright, uncle Sammy Watson, mother in-law Mary Pope, brother in-laws Terry (Bev) Pope, Richard Pope, David (Emiko) Pope, nieces Shawn (Michael) Minogue, Kendra (Mason) McCoy, Courtney Pope, Caitlyn Pope, Jennifer (Guadalupe) Garza, Beverly Pope, nephew Raymond Pope, numerous cousins, and many friends.

Ann Marie was an amazing wife and a wonderful mother to her children.  She was my best friend and gave me the happiest days of my life.  We were lucky to find each other on a chance meeting when water skiing with friends.  She was that very special person that touched everyone that knew her.  Ann Marie will be missed by so many and will be with us forever.
