Fred Brooks Phillips, 83, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2017. He was born December 15, 1933 in Malvern, Arkansas, the youngest child of Hershell and Eunice Phillips.

Fred is survived by his wife Donna, daughters, Terry (Don) Cameron, Jennifer (Patrick) Mosher, Cathryn Devencenty, and Amy (Josh) Kelly, and fifteen loving grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters, Reba, Vonda and JoAnn, and, his son Philip. Fred was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Fred moved to Texas as a child and grew up on a farm.  He graduated from Cy-Fair High School and then served in the US Army where he developed his love of airplanes. After his service, he attended Embry-Riddle School of Aviation in Florida and earned his A&P rating and commercial pilots license, graduating third in his class.  He returned to Texas and eventually started his own business, Phillips Aviation, at Weiser Airpark and later relocated to Hooks Airport.  Following his long desire to live in the mountains, he moved his family and business (Peak Aviation) to Colorado. He loved being able to see Pikes Peak from the hanger.  In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

He was a very hard working man who could fix almost anything.  He could also make anyone smile with a raise of his eyebrow, his infectious smile, or the twinkle in his eye.  He leaves behind numerous stories of his practical jokes.

A memorial service will be held  Wednesday, May 24th. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Alzheimer’s Association.
