Geraldine Ann Flanagan

On April 1, 2024, Geraldine “Gerry” Ann Flanagan, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called to her heavenly home after a courageous health battle.  Her loving husband Jerry was at her side. She was one of the six children born to Cleo, Sr. and Velma (Crochet) Comeaux on July 8, 1953.

Gerry grew up in Hathaway, Louisiana and graduated from Hathaway High School in 1971.  She was blessed with three wonderful children: Jamie, Sean, and Angel that were the center of her world. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She met her future husband Jerry Flanagan while he was playing the fiddle in a Cajun band – After a brief courtship, they were married on May 4, 1991. 

After moving to Houston with her husband, she started working in the stevedore shipping industry doing purchasing and accounts payable/receivable payroll for E. S. Binnings Inc. and later Ceres Gulf Inc. She was often found close to the stage of Jerry’s gigs when he was playing the fiddle, saxophone or guitar and singing. Watching Jerry in his element brought an overwhelming happiness to Gerry.

Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of thirty-three years Jerry Wayne Flanagan, children: Jamie (Dhanny) Racca of Houston, Sean (Andre’a) Racca of Houston, Angel (Billy) Humble of Hathaway, LA; grandchildren: Harley, Cherry, Trenton, Kaleb and Levi; siblings: Karen (Ed) Archibald of Cold Springs, TX; Tony (Sharon) Comeaux of Hathaway, LA;  Becky (Glenn) Conner of Roanoke, LA; Jentry (Julie) Comeaux of Jennings, LA;  and Mark (Wendy) Comeaux of Hathaway, LA, godchild Casey Racca Sepulvado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cleo and Velma Comeaux.

While Gerry has left us, she has left us with a lasting legacy that we will carry on.
