James Harvey “Jim” Hudson was ushered into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ early on February 2nd, 2018 after a very brief illness.  Jim was born on August 7th, 1930 in Brownsville, Texas and was the son of Charles Edward “Ted” Hudson and Talitha Florence Sutherland.  He spent his childhood in the Rio Grande Valley.  His father had a citrus orchard before they moved into the town of San Benito, TX. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Espey, and moved to Houston to work for Southwestern Bell.  He began his 35-year career as a lineman’s assistant and gradually worked his way into management as a sales engineer.  During his career, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, raised five children with his wife, and completed additional engineering courses before being moved to management.  Jim enjoyed history, model airplanes, story-telling, inventing and repairing almost anything mechanical.  He served faithfully for many years in church leadership.  After his retirement, Jim and Nancy moved to Tomball, TX and later Arlington, TX.

 Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Hudson, His sister, Emma Beth Chain and brother, Charles E. Hudson “Bud” both of Scotsbluff, NE.  His son, J. Harvey Hudson, Jr. and wife Donna, His daughter, Nancy Beth Ellis, His son, Charles E. Hudson and wife Becky, his daughter, Eve Skelton and husband Tom, his daughter Kathleen Naberhaus and husband Dan.  Jim and Nancy also have fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Jim’s family celebrated his life and faith on Sunday, February 4th.  His body will be interred at Klein Memorial Park in Pinehurst, Texas on Tuesday, February 6th.  His family suggests that any desire to honor Jim be made in a donation to the Christian charity of your choice.
