Kenneth "Ken" Jurica
May 23, 2017Share Tribute:
Kenneth Ray Jurica, 77, of Houston, Texas, passed away in his home on May 23, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Ken was born in Wharton, Texas, but raised in Sealy, Texas and was the eldest of two children.
He served six years in the United States Air Force Reserves and was a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business. He was happily married to his loving and wonderful wife Sybil Jurica for the past 46 years, during which time they raised three sons together.
Upon graduating college Ken went to work for Cameron Iron Works which later became Wyman-Gordon retiring in 1999 after 37 years of service. During his free time, Ken loved to golf, hunt and fish with his family and friends. He spent many years both before and after retiring fishing Lake Livingston where he was content just driving the boat and finding the fish while everyone else on the boat caught their individual limits of white bass. The best part, even after a full day of fishing, he would take care of cleaning all the fish that everyone caught. You could not ask for a better father or friend to go fishing with.
Ken was preceded in death by his father and mother and is survived by his younger sister Billye Jean, his wonderful wife Sybil and their three sons. Additionally, he was a wonderful Grandfather to nine grandchildren all whom will undoubtedly miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Hermann Foundation, in memory of Kenneth Jurica for 5-HVI. The mailing address is 929 Gessner Rd. # 2650 Houston, Texas 77024.
