It is with extreme sorrow the family announces the passing of Lois Nell Wilson Conwell on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  She passed comfortably at home in her sleep. She was 97 years old.

Lois was born on March 6, 1920 in Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by father, Matthew Earl Wilson and mother, Nellie Mae Cary Wilson; sisters, Doris Dunn, Marjorie Benton, Lila Bosworth, and brother Earl “Bubba” Wilson.  She was also preceded in death by her eldest son, Ronnie Byron Conwell and a baby daughter, Diana Lee Conwell.

Ms. Conwell is survived by 2 sons, Mike Kent Conwell and wife Cory, Allyn Blair Conwell and wife Olga; and 1 daughter, Carma Conwell Little.She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois graduated with honors from Reagan High School, married in 1938, divorced in 1954, and was a legal secretary for most of her adult life.  She worked for Shell Oil Company and in the petroleum industry for many years and later in life was proud of her service with Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Lois lived independently until a debilitating stroke at the age of 93 at which time she moved in with her daughter until her death.

Visitation hours will be Sunday May 7th from 12:00pm – 5:00pm @ Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home located at 9926 Jones Rd., Houston, TX.  A Memorial Service will be held at the same location on Monday May 8th at 10:00am followed by a procession to Historic Hollywood Cemetery located at 3506 N. Main St., Houston, TX. 77009.
