Remembering
Montel Deshaun Hanson
Montel Deshaun Hanson was born February 10, 1997 and leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Chaka Lawton and stepfather, Rob Lawton of Cypress, Texas and father Larry Hanson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was Chaka’s first-born son and was a great big brother to Desy. Montel was a proud graduate of Cy-Fair ISD, where he attended Cy-Fair High School, Class of 2015. There he was a star basketball player and a true leader on his team. After graduating, he attended Blinn Junior College as a freshman and was projected to attend Lone Star Community College in the Fall.
What most will remember about Montel Deshaun Hanson, was his larger-than-life personality. He was free-spirited and tried not to take life too seriously, which was evident in his playful banter. For those who knew him well, they will remember him as a young man of his word, who spoke his mind, and was not to be crossed when it came to his loved ones. It is difficult to say goodbye to a young man with such a big heart. He would always go the extra mile to help a loved one or friend in need. Words cannot express the depth of our loss. We will forever cherish his memory.
For My Big Brother
You showed me a lot of things, I learned a lot I didn’t know,
But you forgot to teach me one last thing; how to let you go.
I know you didn’t mean to leave me, sometimes we have no choice,
I’ll miss being your younger brother, hearing my name called by your voice.
I wish I got to say, “I Love You” one more time, before you were given to the sky,
If God could grant me one last wish, I’d ask to say “Goodbye.”
You always meant the world to me, I could never love you any less,
I now know it’s true when they say, “God only takes the best!”
Love Desy
