Shirley Alma Byerley, age 84, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Cypress, Texas. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard D. Woodring and by her second husband Edward F. Byerley. Shirley is survived by her children, Richard Woodring and wife Debbie, Stephen Woodring and wife Jinny and Deborah Ann Barrow and husband Mervyn, in addition to four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Gordon Bickle and wife Toots and by her sister-in-law Carrie Byerley.

Shirley's first husband Richard passed while their three children were very young. As a young widow, she was able to raise her three children and buy a home all on her own. She also promised her children a college education and it was a promise she kept. She married Edward Byerley in 1971 and together they took the grandchildren on vacations across the United States. Some of Shirley's favorite things to do were cleaning, shopping, gambling and doughnuts, however; first and foremost, Shirley was a mom who loved her kids and her grandkids.

Shirley's Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 in the Chapel at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral home.
