Thomas Grant Prothro, a wonderful husband and father, passed way unexpectedly on November 26, 2017 at the age of 26 in his home in Cypress, Texas. 

Thomas is survived by his wife, Ciara Prothro; his son, Tommy Prothro; his parents, Leo and Rebecca Prothro; his brothers, Tyler and Travis Prothro; his sister, Stacy Carlton; his sister-in-law, Shannon Prothro; his nephews, Christian Prothro, Xander Harper, and Nolan Prothro; his niece, Aubree Prothro; and his grandmother, Elaine Kimzey. He is proceeded in death by his Grandpa Kimzey, Mams, Papa, Daisy, Taz, and Big Blue.

Thomas was born in Houston, Texas on September 28, 1991 to Leo and Rebecca Prothro. He graduated from the Cy-Woods High School in 2010 and attended Northwestern State University after graduation. He then transferred to Sam Houston State University until he found a job at Flooring Services of Texas, which helped start his life as working adult. On April 11, 2015, he married Ciara Harper, a math teacher and his high school sweetheart. On November 12, 2016 they welcome their son Thomas Grant Prothro Jr. into the world.

Thomas was a devoted father, who’s son was his world. He loved Houston sports and always wanted to go to the games. When the Astros won the World Series, just a couple months again, Thomas was ecstatic about the win! Thomas’ love for sports has been a lifetime love, from peewee football, to high school football. He was always the social butterfly that talked and knew everyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his friends, and his family.
