On Sunday, October 10, 2021, Albert James Cook, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer and other health issues. He was born on January 5, 1947 in Mobile, AL to Martha and Sidney Cook and at an early age, their family moved to Akron, OH. He worked at Mohawk Rubber for many years as a tire builder and as a supervisor later in his career.
In 1970 he met his wife Debbie and in 1978 Albert moved his family to Houston, TX for work. Once all their children were grown, Albert and Debbie traveled throughout the USA to many different states. He enjoyed traveling and watching baseball, basketball and football and his favorite teams were the Houston Astros, and the Cleveland Browns, he was also a big fan of Lebron James. He loved checking out the latest cars and trucks and his favorite music was the 70’s rhythm and blues.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers John Cook, and Sidney Cook, Jr. sisters, Rosie Cook-Harris; Betty Johnson; and Bessie Esland.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Deborah Wheeler Cook; sons, Albert (Susan) Cook, Jr., Alexander (Rhonda) Cook, daughters: Airica (Efrem) Twitty, Avinn (Arden) Stark and Ashley Cook all of Cypress, TX. Brothers, Nathaniel (Nevis) Cook, and David Cook of Akron, OH; sisters, Pearl Clemons of Akron, OH, Geraldine (Wayne) Stargell of Warren, OH, Dolly Parson of Cleveland, OH, Linda (Kenneth) Henderson of Orlando, FL, and Jeanette (Mike) Clemmons of Akron, OH, Twelve (12) Grandchildren and nine (9) Great Grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends.
He is gone but never forgotten, leaving his loving memories in all our hearts forever.
