In Loving Memory of Alice Jeanette Gates

Alice Jeanette Gates, age 80, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Jeanette was raised in Louisville, Mississippi by her loving parents, Henry and Valeria Humphries.

She married Thomas Gates on October 30, 1956 and together they raised three children: Michael, Clay and Desire’. Jeanette and her family traveled to many parts of the world while following her husband Thomas' Naval career.

Jeanette enjoyed life with family and friends. Her quick and beautiful smile and willingness to help others, helped her to have many lifelong friends.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Valeria, her husband Thomas and daughter Desire’. 

She is survived by her sons, Michael and his wife Deanna, Clay and his wife Sharon, her two grandkids, Sheena Hightower and Steven Gates, as well as four great-grandkids, Brooke Westling, Emma Westling, Maxwell Westling and Gunner Hightower.

Visitation will be held at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home in Houston on Friday June 29th between 10 AM and 12 noon.
