It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andres “Andy” Mesones on January 15, 2021 after a sudden heart attack. He was 52 years old.
Andy was born December 19, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York to Nestor and Sonia Mesones. He was their only child and the light of his mother’s life. His parents immigrated to the United States from Uruguay in 1968 and Andy was born shortly thereafter. After spending seven years in New York, the family moved to Houston, Texas and Andy attended Sharpstown High School. He made lifelong friendships that continued up to the day of his death.
Andy went straight into the workforce after high school. He started off as a painter and became very specialized in his craft. He opened his own business and had a constant stream of clientele due to his knowledge, attentiveness and attention detail.
In Andy’s spare time he enjoyed cooking, offshore fishing, traveling, spending time with friends and family and playing with his dog “Peanut”. He always had to be doing something and was always on the move. His sense of humor was world class, and he could always make you laugh. He had a heart of gold and did everything he could to right his wrongs. He only cared, never judged. He lived responsibly, respectfully and peacefully with the love of his life Kate Peterson. He was a loving father, son, nephew, cousin and friend. Andy’s last several years were some of the happiest of his life.
Andy will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew him. He was the proud father to Alexander “Alex” Scott Mesones, son to Nestor Mesones of Tampa, FL, partner to Katharine “Kate” Peterson of Houston, TX , cousin to Monica Mesones Kanellitsas (Joe) of Sherman Oaks, CA and Tony Mesones (Kim) of Brooklyn, NY, nephew to Tono Mesones (Margarita) and of Uruguay: Ana Brignone Siboldi (Tito), aunt Mirta Mesones, cousins Carla Santos Mesones (Leo), Leticia Santos Mesones and countless second and third cousins.
Funeral services will be held privately with immediate family only due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
DUE TO THE PANDEMIC THE FAMILY HAS REQUESTED THAT ALL SERVICES BE LIVE STREAMED FOR THE PUBLIC.
