Benjamin Rios Murillo, 91, died at Methodist West Hospital in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, September 2, 2017. A death by natural causes.

Born February 6,1926, in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he lived in General Teran, Mexico, and Fresno, California before settling in Cypress, Texas. He worked in Fresno, California as a farmer and in agriculture until 1968 and in carpentry in Houston, Texas until retiring in 1984.  Benjamin was a respectable, well-loved man, who loved to spend time with his family especially all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had two ranches where he planted orange trees and raised cattle. He loved farming, being outdoors, dancing, listening to norteno music and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Deyanira Murillo; sons, Victor, Luis, Benjamin Jr Murillo; daughter, Zorayada Galvan, two brothers, two sisters, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Benjamin was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a daughter.

Services will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, at the Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, Texas. Burial will be held in Carmen Nelson Bostick Cemetery on September 7 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home immediately following it, from 5 to 7 p.m.
