Brenda Jo Young

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Jo Young announce her passing at the age of 63. Brenda Jo Young was born in Houston, Texas to MC and Hattie Mae Tyer. In her younger years she enjoyed participating in Girl Scouts and 4-H with her sister Cheryl Tyer. She was one of five children. She completed high school at M.B. Smiley High school and kept in touch with her schoolmates throughout her life. She went on to work retail for many years and then drove a school bus for Spring Branch ISD where she was an employee for 25 years. She married Richard P. Young and had a total of 3 sons. Brenda and Richard were together for 28 years before Richard went to be with the lord. Brenda enjoyed gambling in Louisiana at Coushatta. She had a gold coin, white jacket, and gold hand cream that brought her good luck while enjoying the slot machines. She loved spending time with her family and especially loved her granddaughters of whom they called her G-Maw. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and big heart. 

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, MC and Hattie Mae Tyer; sister, Beverly Tyer; and son Jeremy T. Rickard. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Jesse (Lauren) Young and Jhett (Sarah) Young; three grand-daughters, Charlyse Young, Adrianna Rickard, and Elizabeth Young; sister, Mary (Greg) Frazier; brother, MC (Lynnette) Tyer; and sister Cheryl Tyer; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home located at 9926 Jones Rd. Cypress, TX 77065 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by a reception.
