CALVERT JOHN STEVENS, passed away unexpectedly, June 16th, 2021 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, he was 67 years young. Calvert was born July 20, 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to John and Virgie Decluette Stevens. He graduated from Washington/ Marion Magnet High School, Class of ’71, and immediately following graduate he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force in 1974.
Calvert met his first wife Ester Mae Levy, in their union came their beautiful daughter Kenya. Years later, he met his second wife, Felicia Gayle Johnson, in their union they had two beautiful children, son, Johnathan, and daughter Calicia.
In 2007, Calvert met his current wife, Susan Haskins Stevens. They dated for four years, before marrying on August 11, 2012 and they shared nine years of love and friendship.
Before his retirement in 2019, Calvert worked as a mail carrier for the United State Postal Service. Gardening was his passion, he definitely had a green thumb and could grow any kind of vegetable. Calvert also loved history books, politics, as well as keeping up with the news, and watching sports.
Survivors include, his wife, Susan Haskin Stevens, mother, Virgie DeCluette Stevens, sister, Elizabeth Ann Blackshear (Curtis) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, his daughters, Kenya Stevens Thomas (Quinnie) of Dayton, Texas and Calicia AV Stevens of Houston, Texas, son, Johnathan Izel Stevens of Houston, Texas, and grandchildren, Kendrick Young, Kennedy Young, Devyn Thomas, and Dakota Thomas of Houston, Texas.
