Catherine (Cathey) Jean Knickerbocker lived a rich and meaningful life. She was born January 27, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Albert Yust and Corinne (Young) Yust. She passed away August 29, 2023 at the Village Green Alzheimer's Memory Center in Cypress, Texas, at the age of 75.
Cathey's educational journey took her to Westbury High School in Houston, and she further pursued her studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
Throughout her professional life, Cathey was dedicated to the oil and gas industry, serving as a senior accountant at various independent oil companies for a remarkable 40+ years. She was successful in her career and actively involved in organizations related to her field. Cathey was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club, where she made significant contributions, including serving as President of the Bellaire Chapter and being part of the national convention board.
Beyond her career and professional involvement, Cathey had a passion for flowers and arranging them to suit various occasions. Her immaculate present wrapping and always over the top Christmases will remain unrivaled.
Her role as a mother, wife, grandmother and friend was central to her life and she cherished these relationships dearly. Cathey loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. Baking and cooking together with them brought her immense joy. She was the anchor of her family, and her happiness was most evident when her loved ones were gathered together.
She is survived by her adoring family, including her five children and five grandchildren. For 48 years, she was the devoted wife of Stanley Knickerbocker.
Cathey's legacy is one of selflessness, dedication, love and a joyful spirit that touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
A celebration of Cathey's life will be held September 10, 2023 at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home. Please join us in honoring the life of this incredible woman who touched so many with her love, laughter, and unwavering spirit.
