Chandler Rei Colburn, the son of Zoi and Regan Colburn, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of June 4, 2020. Chandler was born on October 26, 1999 and was a lifelong resident of Cypress, Texas. A graduate of Cypress Woods High School in 2018, Chandler continued his education at the Tulsa School of Welding. Following graduation, he began working as an Overhead Crane Technician Trainee.
Chandler was not much for labels, but fisherman was one he gladly accepted. From the time anyone can remember, he could be found sitting on a dock or in a boat with a fishing pole in his hand. He loved the water and the challenge and peace fishing brought him whether he was by himself or with his family and friends. It was his great escape and his greatest love.
A wonderful friend to many, Chandler was the “rock” everyone depended on. He was always there for his friends and cousins with his ears open, listening without judgement. His heart was big, and he couldn’t pass a stray animal without taking them in or finding them homes. His precious dogs Axle, Sandy and Lucy didn’t know they hit the jackpot when they came to live with him. A fighter of animal rights, Chandler was a big supporter of Save the Turtles.
Chandler also had a mischievous, adventurous side to him and gave his mom and dad endless headaches. He was a thrill seeker that loved speed, dirt track racing, mudding and doing burn outs and donuts over and over. He was the one who always took a chance and could convince you to do the same with a smile and twinkle in his eye. He loved all kinds of music, but he especially enjoyed listening and dancing to country music.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather AJ Colburn and his dog Axle.
Chandler is survived by his mother Zoi Colburn, father Regan Colburn, stepmother Michelle and stepsister Jessica, grandparents Linda and Lew Worcel, Bud and Rose Ruddell and Mark and Emma Dietz; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and niece.
