Curtis Lowell Lacy, 68, of Cypress, Texas, died suddenly from a heart attack on Monday, January 22, at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, Houston.

Curtis was born in Gainesville, Texas, to Lowell Curtis and Lorena Winsett Lacy on January 10, 1950, but spent most of his formative years living in Silsbee, Texas.  He was a graduate of Lamar University where he received a B.A. in history. He married his high school sweetheart Candi Hill Lacy on August 16, 1974.  Curtis spent the majority of his career in sales.

Curtis was known for having a big heart.  He loved his family and friends unconditionally and was the type of person who never passed a woman broken down on the road without stopping to help, no matter how little time he had.  You could always count on him if you needed help--he would be there.  Curtis loved history and was always ready to give anyone a history lesson, whether they wanted it or not, or to explain current events from a historical perspective.  He loved spinning a yarn and was known for having a great sense of humor.  A lover of all music genres, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of music and musicians. We will always miss his wonderful smile and his one-in-a-million voice. Curtis loved nothing better than humor, positive vibes and a good party so please wear bright colors so we can send him off with as much love and good wishes as possible.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Candi, his daughters Amanda (Simon) Solomon, Ginger (Dr. Nedrana Boutte) Howard, and son Casey Lacy, grandchildren Kyle Seiley, Candice Lacy, and great grandchild, Dylan Seiley.  He was anticipating the birth of another granddaughter in May.  He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Mack Winsett Lacy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, February 10, at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston.  A full obituary may be read at www.cyfairfunerals.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to Planned Parenthood or Star of Hope Mission.
