Darrell Joe Fannin

Darrell Joe Fannin, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. Darrell was born to Joe and Ina Lee on December 3, 1950 in Houston, Texas. However, he was raised in Highlands, Texas. After graduating from Baytown Sterling, he attended Lee Jr. College before moving to Huntsville to attend Sam Houston State University. While at Sam Houston, he met his wife, Beverly. Their friendship soon turned to love and they were married on July the 13th 1973. The Lord blessed them with three children - Angela, Christy, and Robert.

Darrell worked for a number of companies throughout his life, always doing his very best to provide for his family. Some of those companies include Coca-Cola and Sysco. He was known for having a very strong work ethic and working well with a team. Darrell was a faithful member of the Jersey Village Church of Christ for over 30 years. He served as a deacon at Jersey Village for over 20 of those years. He also taught Bible Class with his wife, Beverly, and helped with puppets in the Children's Bible Hour ministry. His relationship with Jesus and family were the most important in his life. He was known by 'Poppy' to his grandsons and really enjoyed spending time with them and watching them excel, whether in baseball, music, or church activities.

Darrell joins his daughter, Angela, and his parents, Joe and Ina Lee, who were called home before his last day. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Beverly; his son Robert Fannin, and his wife Abigail; his daughter, Christy Hailey, and her husband Robert; his son-in-law Barre Sanderson; his grandsons Greg Sanderson, Josh Sanderson, and Daniel Hailey; and great-grandson Riley Sanderson. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:30 on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Cy-Fair Funeral home in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at Jersey Village Church of Christ.
