Darrin Lee Morris

Darrin Lee Morris, Age 52, of Cypress TX formerly from Killeen, TX passed away on Friday August 17, 2018, after fighting a long battle with Diabetes.

Darrin was born September 7, 1965, at Darnell Army Hospital, Ft. Hood, TX to Charles and Linda Morris. He attended Berlin High School, in Berlin Germany, but came back his Junior year to graduate from Killeen High School in 1982.

He married the love of his life, his soul mate, Racheal Christie Morris on March 18, 2011.

Darrin proudly served in the US Air Force. He later found his career in the IT field. He obtained many IT Certification’s and worked in that profession until his Diabetes took over too much of his body.

Darrin was a “Military Brat” and he lived many places: Killeen TX, Lawton OK, Fairbanks AK, and Berlin Germany and then finally back to Killeen, TX. He then settled in the Houston area. He became an avid supporter of the Houston Texans, the Houston Astros, and the Houston Rockets.

Darrin’s hobbies always centered around sports. In his younger days he played football and baseball. Then, when his son Brandon was born and became old enough, he coached and supported him for Spring, Summer and Fall baseball leagues. He will be remembered for his devotion to the sport and helping many young people pursue their dreams.

His favorite place to vacation was in the Bahamas. He and his family spent several summers there and were already looking forward to next summer.

For his 50th birthday his wife presented him with a 50th Anniversary Mustang. He was so proud of that car. He and Racheal would have date nights or just long drives cruising to his beloved 80’s music.

He is survived by his wife Racheal, son Brandon, Cypress, TX. and daughter Kayla, Cypress, TX, son’s Justin and Jacob, Temple, TX., daughter Victoria, Temple, TX., his Mom and Dad, Linda & Fred Garvin, Killeen, TX., his Dad Charles Morris, Proctor, TX., brother Charles Jr., Proctor, TX., a sister Tina, McAllister OK., a brother Michael, Killeen, TX. his Father and Mother-In-Law Jim and Mary Christie, Houston, TX., Brother-In-Law Milton Nowlin, Lynchburg, VA., and Brother and Sister-in-Law Danny and Melissa Christie, Cypress, TX.  along with Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins, and his long-time pet companions Bella and Luna.

He was predeceased by his sister Marcie Morris Nowlin in 2014, from Lynchburg, VA, his grandparents J.L. and Ruth Harris of Lubbock, TX, L.B. Morris of Ravenna, TX and Ruby Morris of Sacramento CA.  

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018, 2:00 pm at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home located on 9926 Jones Road Houston, TX 77065. www.cyfairfunerals.com.                     Phone # 281-897-9823.

A “Celebration of Life” will follow at the Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home at the above location.

Darrin will always be remembered for his kind heart, quick-wit and his tenaciousness that allowed him to achieve many diverse endeavors. Everyone remembers Darrin for his smile and friendliness.

He was so loved by all and will truly be missed
