David H. Montgomery, an entrepreneur and longtime resident of Cypress, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on October 8th 2020 at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress Hospital.
David is survived by his loving wife, Alison Montgomery, his two sons, Joshua and Caleb Talbot (whom he raised from the ages of 3 and 4 years old, respectively), and his sister, Myrna Jones.
Born in Topeka, Kansas on August 6th, 1944, David was, at times, a Teacher, Coach, Pastor, Evangelist, Principal, an Entrepreneur and a Santa Claus. Additionally, David had a love for music, a field in which he earned a PhD, and was an accomplished saxophonist.
David’s entire life was devoted to God, Alison and their boys, and this was evident to all who knew him. He was encouraging, supportive, and the biggest cheerleader for those he loved. He was always beyond proud of anything his family did no matter how big or small.
David never met a stranger. He loved people, and people loved him. He was kind and gentle and would do anything for anyone no matter the cost. At the same time, David was fiercely protective of his family.
David loved being a Santa every year and traveling. He went on many cruises with Alison but he also had just as much fun traveling by Amtrak. At home, he loved to watch the Astros, the Texans or the Rockets play, and every morning he could be found having breakfast and hanging out with his friends who called themselves “The Whataburger Club”.
The void left behind will never be filled as he was one of a kind. He is, and always will be, Alison’s soulmate and she has faith that they will be together again.
Per David’s wishes, he will be cremated and will have a very simple memorial that will be streamed live over the internet on October 23rd at 11 am CST.
We love you David, more than you will ever know.
