Debra Ann (Coxwell) Mardis

Debra Ann Coxwell Mardis, 58, passed away on August 26, 2018. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 28, 1959 and spent her early years in Jacksonville and Tallahassee.

She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Coxwell. She is survived by her mother Betty Ann Shirley, her brother Reynolds Coxwell, her sister Tricia Snyder and husband Doug. She also is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne, her children Isaac, Leslie, Laura, Jason and Timothy and grandson Elijah.

Debbie came to Houston in 1980 after marrying Wayne and became a Texan.

Debbie provided a loving home environment for her children and always encouraged them to do their best. later in life she went back to college and obtained her Bachelor's degree in social work from Prairie View A&M University. She worked as both a licensed social worker and as an activities director at several Houston area assisting living and memory care facilities. She loved her residents.

She was a long time member of Jersey Village Baptist Church, now Champion Forest- Jersey Village, and loved her lord very much. She served many years in the Pre-school program and leaves many long-time friends.

A memorial service will be held at noon on September 1, 2018 in the Chapel, Building E, of Champion Forest-Jersey Village, 16518 Jersey Dr, Jersey Village, TX 77040
