Deloris Geraldine Holley, born December 14, 1935 to Willard and Orelia Sparks in Saginaw Michigan. She was the 6th of seven children who have all predeceased her: Olie Mae Olive, Maxine Camp, Geneva Buckley, Beatrice Stone, Willard Sparks, Jr., and Shirley Beatty. She is survived by her adoptive brother, Gary Hunt. She is survived by two daughters: Vivene Lorette Michele Holley (Snellville, GA) and Orelia Laureen Darcele Holley (Houston, TX); five grandchildren: Charnai Aquenda Jenise Holley, Zachary Gayden-Holley, Cameo Leroy Holley, Cameron Lynnhart Holley, and Darien Joseph Holley; one great-granddaughter: Sophia Jenise Holley. Although she had a small number of children, she was a “mother” to many including LeRoy Gates, Jr. and many others. She was married to LeRoy Holley for 26 years, she worked for and retired from Hurley Medical Center of Flint, Mi., and was an active member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church of Flint before relocating to Houston, Texas. She has been pastored by Gerald Carter for the past 12 years.
She will be laid to rest in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, in Flint, Michigan, next to her youngest daughter, Jenise Shirley Jeanine Holley.
The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of Woodwind Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center for taking care of their mother, nana, aunt, and friend for 12 years.
