Dennis Ray Short

Dennis Ray Short, 67, of Houston, Texas passed away on June 23, 2019 while at home.

Dennis was born March 19, 1952 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Ash Lee Short and Edna Mae Bilbo. He was an accomplished Banker in the Houston area for many years before retiring and taking on the role of Grandpa. Aside from his prowess in finance, Dennis also enjoyed the outdoors where he spent most of his leisure time ranching, hunting and fishing. He took pride in his role as a lifetime committeeman with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and enjoyed his time working with the Boy Scouts of America.

According to Dennis, his biggest accomplishment was being married to the love of his life, Cheri for the last 45 years. Dennis is survived buy his loving wife, Cheri Short, his son Jonathan Short and his wife Christin and grandchildren Austin and Autumn, her brothers and sisters Ash, Lloyd, Robbie and Rose Mary and their families as well as numerous friends.

Dennis will be remembered Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home. It is located at 9926 Jones Road, Houston, Texas 77065. A reception for family and friends following the service will be held at the home of Cookie and Murl Murphy at 11706 Regency Forest Drive, Cypress, TX 77429.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in Dennis’s name be made to The American Heart Association.
