Tribute

In Loving Memory of Donald L. Rawson

My Dad

You with your blue eyes,
That shone bright with humor and wit
A beacon of light in my life that was always lit

You with your large ears,
That listened with thought and care
Patient and supportive, you were always there

You with your prominent nose,
That breathed gentle and slow
Reminding me to be calm and go with the flow

You with your toothy grin,
That spoke words of kind and wise
Always reliable to support me and advise

You with your big heart,
That hugged mine all around
A source of happiness and love flowing abound

While the world is cruel for taking you away so soon,
The world is even kinder for blessing me with you

In the realm of heaven your soul is at peace,
And when I think of our life it reminds me

Whatever I’ll do wherever I’ll go,
There’s a house in my heart and you’re home

Dad, thank you for everything. I love you forever.

Your daughter always, May

Donald L. Rawson, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend was called to his heavenly home in September, 2023.

Born in February 1960, Don was the youngest child of Dave and Wilma Rawson of OKC. Their love and support paved the way for a remarkable man he became.

Don cherished his wife, Connie and their daughter, May. Likewise, they loved him dearly. He said they were his greatest treasure who filled his life with happiness and pride. His life was enriched by his devotion to his family, being there for friends, willingness to assist others; by his professional achievement in the workplaces; and by his contribution to our community.

Don had a unique personality and a great character. He enjoyed telling jokes and had a great sense of humor. He was sensitive to others’ pain, but demonstrated amazing strength in his journey to search for physical healing. Don, may you rest in peace.

Don is survived by his wife and their daughter; sister, Resa Pace; brother James Rawson and his wife Regina; as well as adoring nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Mark Pace.

Our family is deeply grateful for Don’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for him, and for the condolences of our friends.

Memorial donations may be made in Don’s honor to the ALS Association.
