Dr. George Weissfisch

The family deeply mourns the loss of Dr. George Weissfisch, Sr. on November 21, 2021 at the age of 85 after a long and difficult battle with cancer. 

He was born in Czechoslovakia and raised in Ecuador where he graduated Valedictorian of his medical school.  He married his wife Jane and they immigrated to the United States.  He completed his medical internship in New York and then went into active duty in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant during the Vietnam war.  He later moved to Texas where he would practice medicine as a surgeon for the next 40 years.  During that time, he served in the Army Reserves, active duty in the Army during Desert Storm and in the Air Force reserves, retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel.  He also created a side business in real estate. 

He enjoyed vacationing with family, going out to dinners and spending time with his grandkids.  He traveled often with his wife Jane and they especially enjoyed vacationing together on cruise ships.

He is survived by his two sons: George and Robert, their wives Keathe and Yenny and his sister Eva and brother Harry.  His legacy includes his grandchildren Zoie, Zayli, Victoria, Dovi, Ozzi, and Bryan.

He is preceded in death by his parents William and Regina Weissfisch and his wife Jane Weissfisch.

His tireless efforts and service to others has created a path for his family to follow and our love for him will never diminish.
