Eric Vincent Carroll

March 10, 1971 ~ June 25, 2021 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Tribute

On June 25, 2021 Eric Vincent (Vince) Carroll left this mortal life to join his Heavenly Father. Gone from us too soon is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, Church leader, and friend, whose incredible love, kindness, and spiritual strength were needed in his Father’s heavenly kingdom.

Vince was soft spoken with a southern understatedness that endeared him to his friends, families, and various church congregations, and all those with whom he interacted through the years.  But that quiet also veiled a strong personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a passion for life. He enjoyed golf, fishing, sports of all kinds, both playing and watching, especially Alabama football.  Roll Tide.

And he enjoyed all that he did even more when it could be done with his sons Sam, Brady, or Jack or his daughter Meagan and her husband Alex, and especially with his first grandchild Theo.

Vince served diligently in many capacities in his Church congregations at both a ward and stake level wherever he lived, be it the Alabama and Georgia of his youth, Idaho and Utah during college, Scotland as a missionary from 1992-1994), Alabama during law school and the early years of his career and later Montana and Texas, serving the public first with the State of Alabama, then in the US Attorney’s office where he would spend the remainder of his career.  He diligently worked throughout his career in service to the Department of Justice and was respected and loved by his colleagues.

He was truly a spiritual giant that strengthened those around him and with his wife of 27 years, Rebecca (Becki) led his family in living a life devoted to his Savior Jesus Christ, and fulfilling every measure of his ability in his Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation. Vince and Becki married in 1994 while attending BYU’s Idaho and later Provo campuses.

Vince was skilled with his hands, incredibly handy around the house, and a skilled woodworker, but his proudest achievement and most lasting legacy will be the wonderful family he leaves behind. Vince is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rebecca Ann Dahle Carroll (Becki); daughter Meagan Hunter (Alex) and grandson Theo Hunter; sons Sam, Brady, and Jack; and siblings Will, Mary, Rianne, Lacey, Matt and Joe.

Vince was preceded in death by his mother Glenita Roney Smith and his father, Bill Carroll.
