Ernesto V. Ortegon

On Sunday, January 26, 2020, Ernesto V Ortegon Sr., devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle passed away at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Laredo, TX to Isidro and Guadalupe Ortegon on September 18, 1937.

Ernesto was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved his wife and children dearly and worked hard his life to provide for them all. He wasn’t afraid to take on something new.

He married the love of his life Raquel A Romero on November 19,1960 and raised 6 loving children. 

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife Raquel and his children Diana V Palacios / husband Thomas Palacios Jr, Patricia O Romero / husband Abraham Romero, Ernesto Jr. / wife Diana Ortegon, Luis Eduardo, David / wife Carol Ortegon and Leticia O Jett/ husband William Jett Sr. Grandchildren, Kristina, Alex, Sarah, Samantha, Rachel, Ernesto III, Carlos, Victoria, Brittany, Allen, Ashley, Andrea, Andrew, Alaina, Jessica, Brandon, Michael, Marissa, EJ, Johnathon, Isabella and William Jr. Great grandchildren, Ian, Aaron, Destiny, Justin, Janie, Isabel, Remington, Addison, Kaden, Kylie, Hannah, Reagan, Jeremiah, Victoria, Damien, Aiden, Avia and many loving nieces and nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother Isidro and Guadalupe and his loving brothers and sisters, Homero, Gregorio, Prudenciano, Isidro, Juan, Gloria and Blanca.

He is gone but will never be forgotten. His memory will be in our hearts forever. He taught us to have faith, work hard and above all else, family comes first. We are blood and nothing is stronger than that bond. He will forever be missed but his legacy lives in all who loved him.
