Tribute

Fabián Van Villanueva 56, fought his hardest battle in life with Covid-19. He succumbed to the horrible Virus,  due to Bilateral Covid Pneumonia.

Fabián was born on September 18, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, with two siblings, Johnny and Patricia.  They were raised by their Grandparents, Juan, Sr. and Francis Villanueva.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Villanueva Jr., brother, Johnny Villanueva III, Grandparents, Juan Villanueva,Sr and Francis Villanueva, Uncle John Perez, father-in-law, Armando Bermudez Sr. and brother-in-law, Joe Anthony Bermudez.

He is survived by his Mother, Lucia Reyes and Mom, Berta Perez. Also survived by his loving wife, Rose and two daughters, Victoria and Izzabella Villanueva, granddaughter, Mila, brothers, Benny, Joe, Robert and Richard Villanueva, sisters, Rachel Jaso and Patricia Ochoa,  sister-in-laws, Anna Bermudez-Price, Diana Bermudez-Gallegos, brother-in-laws, Steven Bermudez and Armando Bermudez Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a young teen, Fabián and his brother Johnny, went back to Texas, with his parents,  Juan and his mom,  Berta. Together his parents raised their 6 children in Pasadena, Texas.

Fabián was a 1982 graduate from Sam Rayburn High School. He also attended South Houston Intermediate, where he played football and also played the trombone in the marching band.  After high school, he attended San Jacinto Community College.

In 1985, he met and married his wife, Rosie Bermudez. Together,  they had two daughters, Victoria and Izzabella Villanueva. Fabián was an amazing family man and always made sure, all of his girls were well taken care of and never lacked for anything.  Fabián wanted more than anything to become a grandpa and his wish came true, when his daughter Victoria, gave birth on August 28th, 2017, to his beautiful granddaughter, Mila.  He called Mila “A gift from God” and took on the new name as “POPO.”

Fabián enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends.  He also enjoyed going to the Texans and Astros games, Las Vegas and taking cross country road trips with Rosie and Izzy.  His passion was fishing. It was his happy place, where he felt at peace and could relieve any stress, he may have had.

No longer having Fabián on this earth, has left a huge hole in our hearts, but in time, we will fill it with all the special memories, he left us to cherish. No words can truly describe, the kind of human being he was to all of those he’s left behind.

Fabián was a man of many talents and trades.  He would often say, “If I stay at a job, it’s because I like it, it’s not because thats all I can do.”  Many years ago, Fabián was a manager of a Pawn Shop and held a GIA Certification.  He also had a part-time Window Business on the weekends, while maintaining a full-time job during the week.  His current employer was APS. He loved his job. He spoke often of how he would have liked to have implemented new changes to the software, in order to make it less complicated.  But ultimately, he would always do whatever it took, to make his customers happy and make sure their parts were shipped to them, all over the world.  Fabián was so knowledgeable and could tell you any details you needed to know, from time zones, shipping information and part numbers. Fabián rarely had more than a few hours of sleep at night, so that he could work and make sure his customers were well taken care of. He left huge shoes to fill at work and no doubt, it will take more than one man to replace him. As Fabián would say, not many people had the knowledge he had for water jetting and high pressure water pumps.  He invested time to acquire the knowledge, so he could always be better, than he was the day before. He competed with himself to always be better. But those of us that love him, always knew, he was the BEST.

The best son, the best daddy, the best husband, the best friend, brother, uncle nephew and coworker. There will never be a greater man then he was.

We love you and miss you Potbelly, Dad, Daddy, Tio, Son....

He has left this world a better place and many people are better humans for having known him.  You will never be forgotten and we know you have only Gone Fishing till we meet again.
