Gerald “Jerry” Pendlum died peacefully in his sleep on August 11, 2021. Jerry was born September 8, 1933, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He served three years in the United States Air Force and upon returning home he met the woman with whom he would share his life, Patricia, “Pat”. They married in 1958 and shared 62 beautiful years together. Jerry worked for the steel mill in New Boston, Ohio before relocating to Houston, Texas where he worked for Tex-Tube until retirement in 1996. Jerry’s most satisfying job was his volunteer fireman position with the Jersey Village Fire Department where he served for 25 years.
Jerry loved Pat, with a love so complete it can only be compared to the love Christ has for his church. He was dedicated to Pat and his family and found great joy in helping, encouraging, and loving all those around him. His greatest joy was serving others, which he showed to family, friends and even strangers.
Jerry is preceded in death by his loving mother, Irene Elizabeth Daily. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat, his children Marilyn Neisch (Dan), Donnie Pendlum, Deanna Pulido (Joel), Karen Kurtin (Kurt), and Jason Pendlum. His legacy continues with grandchildren Julie Haro (Ricky), Michael Neisch (Mandy), Andrew Neisch (Bethany), Olivia Smith (Zach), Emily Pulido, Ryan Pulido, Samuel Kurtin, Anna Kurtin, Gerald “Jerry” Kurtin, and Timothy “Timmy” Kurtin. In addition, he had four beautiful great-grandchildren: Levi Neisch, Abby Neisch, Eden Neisch, and Luke Neisch. His memory lives on in all those who love him and treasure the time spent with “Dad”, “Granddad”, “Grandpa”, and “Pawpaw”.
The Funeral Mass will be held in the
CHAPEL OF CHRIST THE REDEEMER.
