Gertrude Ann Snider Widacki, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday September 24, 2021. She was born May 11, 1932 in Marlin Texas to Charlie and Vicki Snider. She married the love of her life Joe Widacki (who preceded her in death in 1974) in Bremond, Texas, after a whirlwind dating and engagement period that lasted an entire 3 months. As she would say, ‘he didn’t let any grass grow under his feet’!
She loved family time and loved to cook a big Sunday Roast with Mrs. Baird’s rolls where she made sure the bottoms of them were good and crisp or a big pot of soup with kluski noodles and even the occasional Monday hotdog feast that included a big can of Wolf brand chili!
Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband Joseph D. Widacki, parents, Charles and Vicki Snider, sister, Dorothy Lero, daughter, Sharon Poe, son-in-law, Bill Biezenski, and grandson, Michael Biezenski. Surviving to cherish her memories are children, JoAnn Biezenski, Tommy Widacki and wife Cynthia, Susan Esquivel and husband Joe, and John Widacki and wife Denise, her grandchildren, Kim Pruitt, Stephen Diaz, Amanda Green, Bridgett Tostado, Sean Connolly, Meagan Elledge, Danielle Bradbury, Brittany Widacki, Joseph Widacki, and 17 great grandchildren.
Gertrude was the rock for her family who did not speak loudly but she could sure make her presence known by her subtle looks and or soft-spoken words of wisdom. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones, friends, and acquaintances.
“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
