Grace Pryor

Grace Pryor went Home to her Lord on March 10, 2019. A simple memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Champion Forest Baptist Church - Jersey Village (16518  Jersey Dr., Houston, TX 77040). 

Grace was born March 29, 1932, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Her parents were Fred (Dutch) and Grace Bailey. Her mother died from spinal meningitis shortly after giving birth, so she was raised by her great uncle and aunt, Evan and Alma Gucker. She graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1950 and married Dale Pryor on June 2, 1951. They had three children: Debbie, Lynn, and Loretta. 

Grace and Dale were married for 46 years before his death in 1997. Over the years, they lived in Houston, Pearland, Midland, and Austin before returning to Houston. Grace loved doing crafts, was always involved in church, and spent many years speaking and sharing her faith through Christian Women's Club.

Grace's singular passion was her love for Jesus Christ. She left a mark on everyone she met--and she liked to meet people. She had a way of encouraging everyone, and she made you feel like you were the most important person she had met. She didn't consider anyone a friend; she considered them family.

She is survived by the following: 

Her three children and their spouses: Debbie and Doug Brown, Loretta and Craig Young, and Lynn and Mary Pryor. Three grandsons: Douglas Brown (and his wife Kristy), Greg Pryor, and Daniel Pryor. Two great-granddaughters: Gracie Brown and Charlotte Brown. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of two mission organizations:
