Herman A. Stanhope III, had a heart of gold and was the life of the party. He enjoyed time with family and friends. He saw and did a lot in his life. He always made sure the kids were taken care. For Christmas one year he stayed up all night putting bikes together. He could be tough on us kids, but it was only so we would grow to be respectful of ourselves and others. He was always there when needed. He was home one night when our neighbor’s son was choking on a grape and ran over to the house, dad kept calm and did what he had to do to help. He was a hero that night. He taught us all life lessons, like when his granddaughter held her breath to the point of passing out. Dads advice was next time she does that splash some water in her face. He would have some of the simplest advice but it worked. And he would always say “you have to be smarter then the equipment you’re working with”. He enjoyed many activities like playing golf. He also enjoyed his time going to The Hot Dog Shop to play pool, shuffleboard, and Trivia. Not to mention having a good time with his friends and harem, the special ladies that became some of his best friends through it all. He loved and respected you all. Dad you will be missed and forever loved.
