Irma Ruth Beattie

Irma Ruth Beattie, 96, passed peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2018.  Born in Newark, New Jersey to Ruth and Deyo Sanders December 19, 1921.  She worked at Bristol-Meyers for many years and met the love of her life John Beattie.  They married on August 14, 1943 and continued to live in the Newark area until the 50’s when they relocated to Houston.  They were blessed with son Wayne in September of 1954.  She was a stay at home mom, a caring, faithful wife, devoted, loving mother and doting cherished grandmother.  A delight to be around and a joy to know, she cared more about others than herself.  That was seen in her many hours that she volunteered at the Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital for more than 25 years.  As a true Christian lady, she had a servant’s heart and was always available to help those who were in need.  Her days were filled with outdoor gardening, treasuring her lilies.  She loved lunching with her friends and visiting.  Her laughter was delightful and contagious. 

She is preceded in death by her husband John, mother Ruth Eleanor Saunders, and father Deyo Saunders.

She leaves behind to cherish her legacy son Wayne and his wife Jan, granddaughter Lauryn Bates and husband Taylor, and many cherished friends.

She has made all who knew her better for being a part of their lives.
