James William Anderson

3/13/1971 – 5/16/2020

James William Anderson was born to John William Anderson of California roots and Dorothea Bryant Stockstill of Paducah, KY 49 years ago in San Antonio, TX. James started his education in Plano, TX and graduated from Hastings High School in Alief. James joined the United States Army in 1990 and served 3 years. He was a veteran of foreign war action having served through the Somalia Campaign (Operation Restore Hope). He received an honorable discharge with various awards including:

Army and Service Ribbon/National Defense Service Medal/Good Conduct Medal/Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal/Sharpshooter Badge. Joint Meritorious Unit Award.

Taking advantage of the GI Bill, James started attending classes at the William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. Upon getting discharged from the Army James continued his studies at the University of Houston and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Biology graduating Magna Cum Laude.

After apprenticing with Jim Hewitt as a Luthier for two years, working as a guitar teacher, and creating fun rock and roll recital's with friends and colleagues for the students, James began to dream of having a music store and offering custom guitars and lessons. He was able to see that dream come true with the TX Guitar Company opening in Katy, TX in 2005.

In 2006 he married Denise Garza of Houston, TX. They have two beautiful children together , Rowan and Angus. He loved spending time with them, building legos with them, and hearing them play music. He loved reading, cooking, playing guitar, spending time with family, riding his bike, listening to rock music, especially AC/DC, Motorhead, and Clutch. He was a rocker through and through.

Sadly, James was stricken by ALS in early 2018 and after a very difficult and courageous battle, James passed into eternal rest on May 16, 2020 with his loving wife, Denise at his side.

He leaves behind his wife, Denise of 13 years, two children - Rowan and  Angus, their precious girl pup, Arya, three siblings - Mike Anderson, Laura Sandoval, Roxanne Hazleton, mother and father - Dorothea Stockstill and John Anderson, and other various family and friends.

The world has lost a brilliant mind. He will be deeply missed but celebrated every day. His legacy lives on through his children.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a small service. Details will be released at a later date.
