James Harold Kumler became a member of Jehovah’s witnesses by baptism in the summer of 1971 and remained faithful. He peacefully fell asleep in death surrounded by his family on June 11, 2019. He was born to the late Byron and Claira Kumler on February 7th, 1937 in Indiana.
James (Jim) loved spending time with his 5 children, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and his cat What. He was a collector of RC vehicles, hot wheels, Star Wars memorabilia, and star trek memorabilia. He also loved playing card, flea-marketing, antiquing, and talking about Jehovah and all his creations.
James (Jim) was preceded in death by his wife Janet and his daughter Jessie Lawson. He is survived by daughters, Julie and husband Raymond Vines of Houston Texas, Janet and husband Bruce Norton of Ocala Florida, June and husband Paul Rameriez of Houston Texas, son John Kumler of Whitefish Montana, brother Jerry Joe Kumler, and sister, Jayne Saeger. Grandchildren Raymond Vines and wife Jessica, James Vines and wife Kerri, Nathan Norton and wife Robin, Amber Heinz and husband Darin, Brandon Lawson and wife Natalee, Blake Lawson and wife Corri, Broke Lawson, Justin Piedra and wife Tiffany, Jessica Piedra, Julie Piedra, Ashley, Acacia and Anwyn Kumler. Great-grandchildren, Destiny, Drake, Samantha Vines, Elijah Gutierrez, Anthony Dylan Vines, Samantha Martindale, Natalie, Zoe, Cameron Hienz, Christopher Lawson, Jayden Piedra, Khrystian and Aaryah Jimenez, Jolin and Joseph Havies, and many other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30pm on June 16, 2019 at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston TX, 77065
