The family deeply mourns the loss of Jane Belgica Weissfisch on April 27, 2021 at the age of nearly 84 after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
She was born and raised in Ecuador. After getting married to her husband, George Weissfisch, she lived many places such as New York, Maryland, Florida and for the past 49 years here in Texas. During her lifetime she worked in Oceanography in Ecuador, bookkeeping in New York and at the Naval Base in Pensacola, Florida and in the family business in Pasadena, Texas. She has served in many volunteer civic and charitable positions and was president of the Harris County Medical Auxiliary. But most notably, she was a stay at home mom and family played the most important role in her life. She loved going on family vacations, travelling the world and her favorite vacation was definitely cruising the seas as she has vacationed on at least 40 different cruise ships.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 57 years Dr. George Weissfisch, their two sons: George and Robert, their wives Keathe and Yenny, her daughter Alicia and her sister Judy. Her legacy includes her grandchildren Zoie, Zayli, Dovi, Ozzi, Victoria, Bryan, Alicia, Carlos, Adriana, Natalia and Diana as well as many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and other family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Manual and Olga Calderon, her sisters Elisa, Olga, Piedad, Teresa, Yolanda and her brother Napoleon and her daughter Vicky.
Her memory and her unconditional love will live on in the hearts and minds of all those she had cared about during her lifetime.
