Jannene "Nene" Zirkle

Our beloved mother, and Nene, Jannene Kay Zirkle, age 68, passed away Thursday, February 13th, 2020 in Houston, Texas.

She is now reunited in her heavenly home with her husband, the love of her life, John S. Zirkle, her parents, Arlie Thomas Sanch and Ila Mae Morgan, her brothers, Gerald Mathew Morgan and Darrell Mark Morgan, and her sister, Jane Sanch.

Jannene is survived by her daughters, Dawn Elaine Shaffer and husband Ronald “Ron” Wallace Shaffer and Angela Zirkle Fennen and husband Benjerman “Ben” Alan Fennen, son, Terry “Alan” Morgan Jr., grandchildren, Brittnii Morgan, Rachael Ashley Morgan, Madison Leigh Morgan, Seth Isiah Fennen, and Halie Elise Fennen, great-grandson, Kristopher Alexander Helms, her sister, Terry Lee Belflower and husband Randy Belflower, and her brothers, Laurence “Larry” Sanch and Jeffery Allen Morgan.

Jannene had a passion for many things, such as quilting, crafting, beading, thrifting and collecting antiques. She loved watching old movies and eating homemade popcorn. She also loved to read all kinds of books and magazines.  Jannene loved her family and really loved spending time with her grandchildren the most.  She loved telling them stories about our family and sharing her love for the Catholic Faith.

She loved to hear stories about how her grandchildren and great grandchild where doing with cheer, school, careers and life.  Her mississippi mud cookies and lemon cheesecake were a must-have at family gatherings.  Jannene never met a stranger, and her customers always waited extra time just to be in her line.  Our mother will always be remembered for her good heart and compassion for everyone she met.

Jannene’s family would like to thank the staff at Methodist Willowbrook, where Jannene spent her final days. The Methodist Willowbrook staff treated Jannene like a member of their own family.

Our family would also like to thank our mother’s closest friends, John and Elizabeth Green, for their unconditional support and love for our mother throughout the years. We would also like to thank the Martin Family and Jennifer Brantley, who have supported our whole family during this difficult time.
