Jeanette Katherine Schillaci Young, born January 19, 1936 of Houston, Texas, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family and close friends on September 20, 2017 at the young age of 81 years old.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Stephanie Young, Nathan Young and wife Sherry, Anthony Porcarello and wife Charlsey, and Samuel Porcarello and wife Kay. Grandchildren; Jennifer Porcarello and husband Clint Drabek, Amanda Halter and husband Dane, Anthony Porcarello, Jessica Lewis and husband Bill, Lacy Hess, Amy Gordon and husband Edward, and Claire Gerke.  She was blessed with six great-grandchildren; McKayla Turco, Nathan Halter, Ryan Hess, Reese Lewis, Isabella Drabek, and William R. Lewis, Jr.  Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan W. Young; her parents, Ross F. Schillaci and Opal Marie Japhet; and her brother, Ross Schillaci.

Jeanette, “Mrs. J.J.,” was known for her mothering and guiding of many throughout her extensive daycare career and followed into retirement.  She accepted all, never forgot a birthday, her spaghetti sauce and peanut brittle was the stuff of legends, she loved gardening, and most of all she valued and enjoyed the time spent with her loved ones.  Jeanette will be deeply missed, but her memories will live on and never be forgotten.
