Jeri Darlene Belin, 52, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Houston, Texas on Thursday, January 25, 2018.

Jeri was born to Jerry and Nancy Belin on June 20, 1965 in Houston, Texas, and later baptized in the Baptist Church of Jersey Village. She served in the US Navy, as a Special Artificer Optical (SAO), and was honorably discharged. She worked at West Loop Savings, and then located to Dallas/Ft. Worth to work with Parkwood Property Management Company. Most recently, she had moved back to Houston and was working with a large insurance firm.

Jeri was preceded in death by her father Jerry, and is survived by her mother Nancy, step-father John, brother Cary, step-brothers Joel and Richard Stahmer, niece Chelsea Marek and numerous cousins. Close, life-long friends include Carloyn Yazdani, Halimeh Jafarbay, Paul Jacobson, and many of their family members, with whom Jeri worked with very-closely over the last couple of decades.

Jeri is remembered as a beautiful, very intelligent lady, with a bright-personality, who always brought quick-witted humor to serious situations. She was also staunchly-loyal to her friends, work, and fellow-workers. She was known for rescuing and caring for animals of all types, and nursing them back to health. Her beloved cat Pookie, was by her side when she died. Few people knew that Jeri and another friend, Frank Juhasz, anonymously and quietly showed compassion and empathy to individuals that were homeless, hungry or disadvantaged.

A special thanks is given to John, for his daily care of Jeri, his unfeigned love, caring, kindness and giving. He truly lives the admonition of Christ, as recorded in Matthew 25:40, “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

The family of Jeri would like to extend our gratitude to friends and family who have sent their love and best wishes.
