Joann Stugard Foster, a dear and loving mother, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2017, in Cypress, Texas after a short illness.  Her three children were with her at her bedside.

Joann was born in McAllen Texas to Jerry and Edna Stugard on December 9, 1928.  She grew up in San Juan, Texas and graduated from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School in 1946.  She handled the gift fruit orders for Stugard Ranch, was a Sunday School teacher, worked for many years as an attendance officer for the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District and later at Laredo Martin High School in Laredo, Texas Texas. 

She was an excellent pianist, ballroom dancer, and singer.  She enjoyed reading, gardening and baking, and her apple pie was second to none.  Most of all, she loved being with her family.

Wherever Joann worked and lived, she touched and blessed many people throughout her life.  A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a dear friend to all those she met, she was truly giving and compassionate soul who loved Jesus Christ.  She always had unconditional love for her family and she will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Joann is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Edna, her little brother Jerome, a son Brian Foster, and her husband, Lyle C. Foster.

Joann is survived by her daughter Janice Culver of Thornton Colorado, her sons Randy Foster of Dripping Springs, Texas and Terry Foster of Hockley, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service in September at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, Austin, Texas, with a date to be set at a later time.
