Johnnie Virginia Fields, 85, passed away on October 26, 2020, in Houston, Texas. She was born to parents, John and Roxie Janey on April 15, 1935, in West Virginia.
Left to remember many beautiful memories are her loving husband of 33 years, Robert Fields; two daughters, Diana Mize and husband Mike, Susan Klodzinski and husband Ralph; three grandchildren, Lyndi Bryson, Landon McGullion, and Rocky McGullion; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Max Janey and Rush Janey. Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Roxie Janey; her son, Mark Lewis; her sisters, Violet Landreth, Elizabeth Ziegler, and Shirley Putnam; and, two brothers, Ralph Janey and Garrett Janey.
Born and raised in, and never strayed from, the Church of Christ. She graduated high school one year early, as she skipped a grade in elementary school. She later attended Cal State Fullerton College, and thereafter began working at Sears Roebuck and Company as an accountant, where she eventually retired. She enjoyed to cook and entertain the family during holidays, and her favorite pastime was spent as an extremely talented seamstress, from curtains to wedding dresses.
We will miss her laughs and hugs, and we have many portraits to remember the good deeds and happy times she gave to us. We were taught by her strict examples, and strengthened by her love.
The family will receive “masked” friends for the funeral service on Thursday, November 5th, at 11:00 AM, at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77065. Followed by a burial at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
