Tribute

Josue David Neely, also known as Josh and lovingly called “Chinito” by his family, was born on June 16, 1989 in the parking lot of Lyndon B. Johnson hospital in Houston, Texas.

Josh was a fun loving soul whom lived in the moment with a surplus of sense of humor and a positive mind set. Some of his greatest attributes were his unconditional love for his parents, daughters, family and friends. His greatest desire was to make those whom he loved smile. There was never a dull moment with Josh, he had a huge heart of gold, he was a giving and selfless person that wouldn't think twice about putting others before himself.

Josh graduated from Scarbrough High School and went on to earn a degree of Sous chef de Cuisine in the Culinary Institute LeNôtre in 2010. One of his greatest passions was cooking. He enjoyed preparing delicious meals and using his talent of cooking to serve others, as he frequently donated his time and resources to his local Church. Since his elementary school days he had dreams of owning his own cafe; a dream that he achieved in the summer of 2017, by opening his very own eatery+bar. With his amazing charisma and high energy he began his career as a master of ceremony in his teenage years. He flourished and became extremely successful in the industry as many of his peers embraced him as one of the most talented and recognised masters of ceremony in the city. During his time in his beloved Lincoln bar he was awarded the 2018 MC of the year award. Josh was an entrepreneur that was never afraid to pursue his dreams as his motto was, “I don’t think outside the box or inside the box… truth is, I don’t even know where the box is!”

Josh’s favorite pastime was sports. He enjoyed playing, attending and watching every sport. He loved every sport equally and enjoyed rooting for his hometown teams: The Houston Texans, Astros, the Houston Rockets and making his oldest sister happy by rooting for the Honduran soccer team “La H”. Most of all, Josh loved to have fun and laugh without a care in the world. He was a big kid at heart that always made spending time with his family and friends a priority.

Josh was a master at breaking barriers and making friends everywhere he went. He had tremendous love for people. He was an exceptional brother, a devoted friend and a supportive, fun and unconditional uncle. He genuinely cared and showed it in the smallest of details. He inspired you to be genuine, and not to be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and live life to your fullest potential.

He is survived by his mother, Alba Banegas, who was his first love and forever girlfriend. Clayton Neely, his father and best friend, along with his cousin, Javier Velasquez. His Beautiful daughters, Aniah and Jae’Leigh. His Siblings: Nelly, Fani, Nadia, Carlos A, Alba, Edgar, Carlos R, Daniel, Brigido and Alondra. His nieces: Nicole, Jazmine, Jyrah and Jaylah. His nephews: Jorge Jr, Chris, Jesus, Carlos, Ezekiel and soon to be born baby Cruz.

He will be greatly missed but never forgotten, and his memory will forever live on through all the people he touched with his irreplaceable and bigger than life personality. We love you Josh! You’ve left an enormous hole in our hearts.
