Tribute

Kathleen Rose Flemming was born in Los Angeles, California on March 24, 1946 to Oscar and Rose Flemming. She journeyed home to be with her Lord on November 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sally Ann Voeller. Kathleen is survived by several nieces, a nephew, her brother-in-law, and her BFF.

Kathleen lived all but the last two years of her life in California. She was a former member of the Sisters of St.Joseph of Carondelet, Los Angeles area. Kathleen was a gifted musician and teacher obtaining her Master of Music degree, Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati.

Music ministry was a big part of Kathleen's life and she served as Music Director to many of the Catholic Churches in the East Bay area. She also provided piano and organ accompaniment at countless church services, weddings and funerals.

Kathleen played several piano performances in the East Bay and she founded several choral groups including Musica Sacra, now known as Diablo Choral Artists. Kathleen felt privileged to take her church choirs to Europe on several occasions where they sang at the Vatican and at St. Marks, Venice, Italy. In 2019, she gave a lecture about her teaching insights and methods at the annual convention of Music Teachers Association of California.

One of the things that Kathleen craved most was teaching piano. She was always an encouraging and patient teacher to her students and they loved her! She greeted each one at the door with her million-dollar smile and a hug each time they came for a lesson and when they went out her door to go home.

Kathleen was a beautiful soul: kind, patient, generous, talented, humble. She touched many lives with her musical gifts and her fun-loving spirit. She will be missed by many and remembered by all who knew her.

God Bless and Keep You, dearest Kathleen.
