Kecia Kay Garris

Kecia Kay Garris Wheatley was born in Sulfur, Louisiana on December 5, 1967. She fought many battles but ultimately lost the war with brain cancer on October 27, 2020 in Houston, TX at the age of 52. The celebration of Kecia’s life will be on Saturday November 7th at 2pm. The memorial service will be held at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Rd. Houston, TX. 77065.

She is now in heaven with her amazing father Dennis Wheatley who precedes her in death. She’s an angel that looks over her loving mother Brenda Wheatley, adored sister Gina Murdock, and her niece London Murdock and nephew Logan Murdock whom she cared for as her own.

Kecia was the happiest the last years of her life while living in Crockett, TX with her caring husband Wesley Kosechata. She was blessed with in laws; Walter and Marsha Kosechata. Sister-in laws; Crystal (Salud) Juarez, Lea Ann (Randy) Hargrove, and Misty (Tony) Kosechata. She especially loved her nieces and nephews; Deidre, Jeremiah, Anthony, Adriana, Ivan, Jenny, Nathan, Ty'Nasia, D'Quarean, and Antonio.

Kecia loved doing anything she could for others. She tried to make you laugh and was everyone’s friend. Christmas was her favorite time of year; she enjoyed giving gifts, just as much as receiving them. Kecia had the amazing ability to remember everyone’s birthday; dogs included. To her all the dogs were too!

Gone too soon. Never forgotten. Always loved.
