On Sunday August 27, 2017, surrounded by family, Keith Russell Scrimshaw (68) lost his courageous battle with cancer. Keith was born on October 6, 1948 in Elmira, New York. He is survived by his wife Veronica Scrimshaw, sister Bonnie Sabo, daughter Theresa Hawkins and husband David Hawkins; stepchildren Michelle Reeve and partner Kirsten Benjamin, Brian Reeve and wife Brittney Reeve, and Jason Reeve; and his four grandchildren Corey Hawkins, Amber Hawkins, Bailey Reeve, and Cayden Keller.  Keith cherished family, enjoyed their company and celebrated their accomplishments.

Keith had a passion for the automotive industry where he worked tirelessly for his entire career.  He was equally passionate about wrestling (it is not fake!), the Miami Dolphins, and Powerball (one day we’re gonna win, get to quit work and retire with no worries!).  He spent many weekends over the years enjoying wrestling matches, even as recently as July for WWE Raw.  He was fortunate enough to make one Dolphins game in person and after moving to Houston, became a fan of the local teams, attending many games with family and friends. Keith was a dedicated Powerball player.  Regardless of his luck, he played his numbers faithfully every Wednesday and Saturday. More lucky in love, Keith met Veronica at the bowling alley in 1993 and they continued to bowl on leagues for many years.  Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 marks their 23rd wedding anniversary. Keith was also an animal lover and was preceded in death by his beloved Chihuahuas Woodstock and Shatze.  We know they are sitting in his lap and enjoying pay per view wrestling each night.

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service to celebrate Keith’s life at 12:30 PM in the chapel of Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Rd., Houston, TX, 77065.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Houston Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
