Kimberly Dawn Berry

July 9, 1965 ~ April 1, 2018 (age 52) 52 Years Old

Tribute

Kimberly Berry passed away peacefully on April1, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Her determination to fight her relentless illness never ceased no matter how difficult the challenge, until she simply ran out of options, not will or fight.  She was a pillar of courage and loved life.

Kim was born in Springfield, Illinois on July 9, 1965 to Paul and Barbara Berry, but became a proud transplanted Texan.  She was passionate about Houston football, both Oilers and Texans, and rivaled any native fan in passion and support.  She will miss their first Superbowl appearance, and the city will miss her enthusiastic cheering.

Kim cherished her family, friends and co-workers, filling their lives with her endless kindness, humor and spirited ribbing to those closest to her. Those memories will be forever treasured by those who were fortunate to have known her, whether at a family event, the workplace or personal encounter.  She loved to interact with people, sharing her worldly views, and taking interest and care in everyone’s daily lives, which accounts for the seemingly endless number of friends that always filled her life.  There were no strangers in her life.

Kim was preceded in death by her father Paul Berry Sr., brother Stephan Berry Sr., both grandparents Bill and Shirley Sparks and Sam and Grace Berry.  She is survived by her wife Tami Sandlin, mother Barbara Berry, sisters Katherine (Chuck) Kramer, Susan (Dan) Daniels, brothers Paul Berry Jr. and Michael (Donece) Berry Sr., children in love Danielle Sandlin, Michael (Kelley) Sandlin Jr., and Zachary (Kelsey) Sandlin, along with grandchildren Lyndon, Elijah, and Nicholas.  She is also survived by countless uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends and co-workers who will all truly miss the love and laughter she brought into their daily lives.  Her 6 loved fur babies at home will miss their Kim to share their unconditional love with, as she did with them.

Special thanks to her mother, wife, family, medical staff and close friends who selflessly sought to provide her care, love, dignity, and hope throughout her tireless battle.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065 and a viewing at 5:00PM on Friday, April 6, 2018 at same location.  Her Cousin Sam Stovall will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family cordially requests that a donation be made to Peacelovedogs c/o Darci Davenport, 10430 Village Lake Drive, Missouri City, Texas 77459 to support her crusade for pet adoption.
