Linda Camino Petrosky, 79, passed away, Friday, December 25, 2020.  She was born on August 4, 1941 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania at the Camino family home.  Linda was the daughter of Arnold and Margaret Camino of Brownsville, PA and the wife of John Petrosky of Belle Vernon, PA. 

She graduated from Brownsville High School. Linda then attended California University of Pennsylvania graduating with a teaching degree in 1965.

She met the great love of her life John (Sonny) Petrosky in 1964. They were married in June 1965 and resided in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. A few years later, they acquired a husky puppy name Toki, who became the second great love of her life. In 1974 she gave birth to their beloved daughter Kara Petrosky.

She retired from North Forest ISD in 2008 having taught kindergarten, first grade, and elementary computer classes for 26 years.

There were many things that Linda liked. In particular spending time with family and friends.  She never met a stranger, just a new friend.  She enjoyed reading books and watching films about the civil war and had a special interest in wolf conservation.  Linda took great joy in this and sponsored a wolf (Renki) at Wolf Park in Battle Ground, Indiana.

She was a brave passionate woman who fought a good fight against her autoimmune disease for decades.

Linda had been residing with her daughter Kara Petrosky in Humble, Texas before moving into long term care at Brookdale Willowbrook Place in Houston, Texas.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Margaret Camino, her brother Larry Camino, and her beloved husband John (Sonny) Petrosky.

She is survived by daughter, Kara Petrosky, brother Arnold Camino, sister Laura Camino, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The final resting place will be in the Rose Garden of Lafayette Cemetery in Brownsville, PA.  The date and location of the funeral service have yet to be determined and will be announced at a future time.
